Motherhood doesn’t come with a manual.
I’d love to be part of your circle of support as you navigate all the ups and downs of pregnancy, postpartum and parenting.
Hi. I’m Erin (she/her). And I’m glad to see you here.
I’m a licensed social worker - and a mom to 4 - who specializes in supporting folks navigating the perinatal period of life, including pregnancy, birth trauma, the postpartum period, and parenting challenges. I also work with people around anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I see clients throughout the state of Massachusetts for telehealth sessions, and in-person in my light-filled, soothing space in Boston’s Roslindale neighborhood.
I try my best to bring curiosity and kindness to my work, and to teach my clients to live with more self-compassion. All the parts of you are welcome here. I believe you’re doing the best you can in a tough season, and that you deserve support. I’m glad you’re here, and I’d love to connect.
I get it - life as a parent today can be pretty overwhelming.
Maybe the transition to parenthood has turned your world upside down. You had ideas about the type of parent you thought you’d be, but your day to day reality feels so far from that vision. You’re feeling disconnected, stressed out, and overextended. Or maybe you’ve tried so many different parenting approaches with little success. That “gentle parenting” stuff sounds good on paper, but the reality? It just doesn’t feel like it’s working.
Perhaps a traumatic birth - or other tough stuff from your past - keeps creeping into your day to day life. You have the sense that there’s something stirring under the surface that might need addressing, but it’s been hard to find the time and space to do it, nevermind the right person to support you through it.
My clients come to me because they want to feel better - to struggle less, to move through life with more psychological flexibility, and to move closer to the things that matter most to them. If you identify with some of what you’re reading, I’d love to chat about how I can support you.
Some of my areas of expertise:
-
Perinatal mental health and parenting support
Supporting clients through the transition to parenthood and navigating the ups and downs of the early years is one of the great joys of my work. I have specialized training in the treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (including postpartum depression and anxiety), birth trauma, fertility challenges, and perinatal grief and loss.
-
EMDR for birth trauma and other traumatic events
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an effective, evidence-based treatment for emotional distress – like anxiety, numbness, or feeling “on edge” - resulting from overwhelming or traumatic experiences.
-
Supporting parents of anxious kids
SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) is an exciting, new evidence-based treatment for kids with OCD and anxiety disorders. In SPACE, parents learn to increase their supportiveness and decrease their accommodations in order to decrease their children’s anxiety.
You deserve to feel better, and you don’t have to do this alone.
It’s possible to stop struggling and learn to thrive. Together, we can help you gain insight into your current challenges, increase your repertoire of practical coping skills, and move closer to a values-driven, rich and meaningful life. I’m glad you’re here, and I’d love to talk about doing a piece of work together.
“The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.”
